Leopard Bug: FAT32 und Read-Only Attribute

Leopard Box

I’ve a USB 80GB HDD Drive, this is formatted with FAT32 on Windows XP, I’ve copied files on it under WinXP, some of the folders have the read-only attribute set.

Now I want to connect the drive to my Leopard Mac and move the files. This wasn’t possible cause of the read-only attribute. If a single file has this attribute set, you can remove it with the Finder „Show File Info“ and deselect the Locked box. On directories this isn’t possible.

Even on the Terminal with „sudo chflags -R nouchg /Volumes/USBDRIVE“ this isn’t possible.

The only way was to connect the drive back to WinXP, remove the read-only attribute an then go back to leopard.
